Lovely fine day. Maud got up to dinner + in pm I took her + Nurse + Nancy out for a drive, we got as far as Cheslyn Rise gate where I let Silvermane drink at the waterrace. In backing out the wheel of the gig jammed on calvert + the axle broke, letting us down with a fairly mild bump + Silver stood still while we slipped out, no one getting hurt, though Maud got something of a shock. Help from Cheslyn Rise was soon available, Dora bringing the trap in quick time to drive Maud back to our house. Left gig on roadside. Drove to church with Father in evening.
