Xmas Day. Received a book "Beltane the Smith" from Maud + others from Clare + Marjorie - also a tie from Mother + a half-sovereign from Father. Maud got up to-day for the first time for dinner, charmingly attired in a blue cap + kimono. Alice took a photo (1/2 pl[ate]) (1) of Maud, the Baby, Nurse Kelly + I at dinner. I took one (2) of the Baby held by Nurse, the former clad in my former christening gown; also one (3) of track

down to swamp + (4) one of the kitched garden showing our first vegetables. Mother. Father, Ivy Bennett + Gilbert came over in pm to see the Baby.
