Thurs. Sept. 28.
Started punga pergola on track down to future swamp garden. Rode up to Sonoma - put two more steers from Top to 100 ac[re] p[addock] making 27 there including one of Kay's. Rode up to fence at top Main Wedge Spur + went on splitting posts - heavy rain so worked at big shed - clearing awat earth from bottom plate to save it rotting - found it had started to rot in some places. Also fixed brackets for guttering on east side of shed. Heavy showers which will do a great deal of good in giving the grass a start. Took home a nikau root + a creeper for the pergola.
