Took it easy till midday, breakfasting + reading etc. Then Maud + I walked

over to Ohau Flat + fired fern + scrub on its terrace-face in both Top + 100 ac[re] paddocks, getting good burns. Maud did splendidly keeping up + firing in great style - she's a trump. On return to whare had a bathe in Matahika. In evening Mrs. Tress very kindly brought us down a piece of wild pork which I roasted in the camp oven.
