Rain during night + showery. Carried 3rd gate up to 100 ac[re] p[addock] east fence. After dinner moved ewes + lambs, which are looking very well except for a few lame ewes, from Top to 100 ac. p. Started removing old disused boundary fence near Ohau River to erect it on top of dangerous cliff on south side Ohau Flat to stop any more steers slipping over. Strong wind from north in evening so got some good fires going in Mill p. near big shed. Showers of rain. Read "Burning Daylight" by Jack London.
