Sat. Jan. 29.
Went over to foot of Combine Spur + cut a belt of scrub along edge of terrace + then up the east side of Combine Spur to mark the eastern limit to which Grange is to cut scrub. Terribly hot day + drank gallons. Returned to whare at 3.30. Heavy shower of rain put out sawdust in about 3 minutes. Rode to Levin in evening to get stores returning before dark.
