Thurs. Jan. 20.
Up at 6 - started scrubbing round 2nd whare before breakfast. At 9.15 rode over to South Block to join Father + others at scrub-cutting - rain came on so did not get a start. On return to whare, the Lancasters arrived + spent day with us - we enjoyed their visit very much. Made a gate for 100 ac[re] p[addock] east fence. In evening read "New Arabian Nights" by R.L. Stevenson.
