Mr. Tress is to get some "face-cut" timber from the old mill heap to repair our boundary flood-gate. On arrival at 100 acre p[addock] fence, split 19 posts, carried some out + put in 7 on Boulder Spur. Counted 31 steers on Mill p. Home for night. Mother returned from Wgton [Wellington] on Thursday + Marjorie at about midnight today - arriving by Auckland Express Train.
