Wet morning, then showery. Mr. Tress came down + borrowed my camp oven for men who are fencing for him. Len + I carried up the second 1 cwt [hundredweight] coil of barb wire - ran out wire from ppp[osite] top Trunk Spur to beyond big rimu on line + strained up. At 2.30 rain came on steady so we retired. Before leaving for home we put 10 of the 21 steers out of Mill p[addock] south end. Very wet night. Found a grand plan + sketches of a bungalow in a paper Maud sent me + may abandon Mr. Herd's plan for this as the roof is better for the water-supply + there are other advantages.
