Tues. July. 13.
Slight white frost + clear day. Len went up to hill top + went on trimming posts while I went round shepherding south end going up by way of Skyline Spur. Grass growing on acc[ount] of mild weather + ewes looking well. Only saw 6 of the steers on this end - rest probably in scrub. Len + I split 19 more hinau posts + spent afternoon clearing fenceline (small piece missed) at top of Trunk Spur. Home for night. Harry McCalman came up unexpectedly in evening - he is in Levin with the troopers transfered from Trentham to here temporarily.
