After giving a hand with the few remaining ewes to be crutched, Scott + I rode up to North Block + finished straining barb wires on east bdy [boundary] fence alongside "1st burn" (up to "15 Chn [Chain]" hollow). Then sawed big rata on main track on burn at top of Leightons Spur + moved it away

sufficiently for stock to get past. Put five steers on "burn". Scott returned home + I stayed at whare. Read "Torchy" by Sewell Ford.
