Father went to Levin to wait on the County Council re a sheep-bridge over the Ohau River and had it granted. Scott, Andy and I rode up to North Block and continued cutting scrub opn south face of East Low Hill. After work put 9 more steers on Mill p[addock] also inspected the scrub "burn" on terraces above Gladstone

Road in Mill p. and found it very good indeed. There is a man + his wife with baby + a little child camping at the foot of the steep hill alongside pipe-bridge - with the wet weather, the nasty location and the winter coming on, I felt very sorry for them.
