In morning Father Clif + I pressed my 6 bales of ewes wool. Fifities + 53 fleeces to the bale + they weighed well. Father went to Wgtn [Wellington] for few days. Rode down to meet beloved Maud who arrived by Napier Mail to stay with Lancasters - I was invited to Hillcrest for afternoon + evening. The Lancasters especially Amy were very good to us + gave us quite a lot of time together so we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Maudie is looking well + charming as usual. She saw me off about 9 pm walking down the path with me and behaving awfully nicely. "Good night, sweetheart".
