Sun. Sept. 20.
Turned out at 8 am after a most comfortable night. Caught the young horse after wading the river twice after him. Then mustered ewes on Mill p[addock] + drove them over river to Stuckey's side - most of the lambs stuck in the water + I had to wade in after them. Changed clothes + strolled around shepherding etc. Carried timber off sawdust heap, etc. A lot of the

ewes are very poor + weak - a shower of rain is badly needed to start the grass growing. Left at 2.30 + met Clif on road - he had been sent up to see what had become of me. Mr Kay had dinner + tea with us - drove to church in evening - Rev. Abbey gave a very interesting sermon on Luther + Bismarck + their influence on the German Empire.
