The whitest frost on record + bitterly cold. Cleared 100 ac[re] p[addock] east fence line near the future gate on Ohau Flat but could not finish for want of a slasher. We found a good hinau log at last + split 16 posts. At midday Father came up to inspect. Anstice found a fine hinau log which cut the two strainers for gateway. Home for the night.
