Sat.July 11.
Worked at pipe drains in CK p[addock] till about 3.30 when a deluge of rain stopped. Took a cart-load of battens + wire etc over to front 42 for tree protection fence + worked in rain till dark. Read "The Princess Virginia" by AN + CM Williamson - a fascinating little tale.
