Showers during night - bitterly cold day - snow on ranges down to crest of Arapaipai Range and on my hilltop, UR.

Took 27 wethers (last end of last muster's hoggarts [sic] to Levin sale + got 18/2. Good prices for most classes of stock. Met Ernie Finlayson who used to live in Levin - had afternoon tea with him + Uncle Bert. Spent frightful lot of money today, bills, etc. Read "Uncanny Tales" by J. Marion Crawford.
