Wed. May 13.
Anstice + I rode up to North Block to camp. We went up loaded like the White Knights in "Alice thro[ugh] Looking Glass". Called at whare + rode up to Ohau Summit to fence. Some of Father's Kelson lambs looking well, others crawling about + dying. Grass fairly short on south end - Leighton p[addock] looking bare - good feed on Mill p[addock]. We ran out barb wires on first section of fence. down slope to Ohau R[iver] + strained up - also saw out the four wires on second section. Saw one of my four missing steers in scrub near east b[oun]d[ar]y. Tea at whare - turned in at 8 pm - fine clear night.
