Said good-bye to dearest darling Maud who returns home by Napier Mail to-day. Father Gil, Jim, Anstice + I up to North Block - we sowed Foxtail spur (part of), East Low Hill, Rocky-[toe?], Track + 2 other spurs to the east. Very rough work on these spurs on acc[ount] of partly burned scrub + fern. Jim + Anstice continued clearing line for east fence of proposed 100 ac[re] p[addock].
