Overview
Mon. Apr. 13.
The weather again turned showery so we were not able to go to the beach + picnic as arranged. Had a good time with Maud + after a picnic lunch Clare, Amy + Dora + Maud + I went for a drive. Agnes + Clifford riding. Rather nice afternoon + on way home Maud + I called on Mrs Jas Prouse but she was out. We walked up to section 42 to see the site of our hoped-for future home - Maud was very pleased with the view from the rise + with the head of the swamp where we have plans of making a garden. After tea we played games but got a good deal of time together, much to Mother's disquiet [m best guess?] - whatever we were to do she would not be pleased + actually lectured me on spending so much time with Maud. Enough to make a fellow mad, but I inted to ignore this miserable display of thwarted selfishmess on her part - from the very fisrt she has been our bugbear.
