Rode down to Levin to get horses shod + to order my cattle brand [underlined] AL [underlining ends] Dipped 56 sheep for Mr Barrow. In afternoon we all took 250 of the "UK" lambs (42 culls left at home) up to terraces on South Block. Father + I rode forward to the North Block - grass good + the "Kelson" lambs doing well. Then we went over to South Block - wethers (2-tooths) improving - home late. Developed 1st dozen of plates of Hastings photos - some fogged on account of leakage between camera and dark slides, but otherwise good.
