Took photo (35) of Avenue Road + the Havelock hills from the dining room verandah door; (36) The house from Avenue Road; and (37) Maud in walking costume on garden path. She + John drove me to the railway station + I caught the Napier Mail for home. Dora + Amy Lancaster met me at Levin but I walked home. Found dipping in progress - the old ewes being done. Rode out to back with Father to see my 36 steers - 31 on sect[tion] 37 + 5 on McD. p[addock] - these cost £4.19.6 - 2 yr olds + rather badly bred, but good sized stuff. They have improved since father purchased them.
