Overview
A windy, showery, cold day so stayed inside with Maud + had a lovely time -talking, reading, being nice to each other + taking photos (32) Maud and I indulging in ice-cream sodas; (33) Maud in same way; (34) Our engagement - putting on the ring. In afternoon I made a great discovery, viz that Maud has only to put out her chest to have

a most charming figure - she has not been in the habit of doing this because she is a rather modest character - on being told, however, how nice she looked that way she agreed to make it a permanent habit. I was wild with delight because this little thing puts on the finishing touch and makes her perfect in every way. In evening we sat by the fire in the drawing room and had a lovely "last time" together.
