179 fat lambs to the station + trucked them to Gear Meat Co. Petone. Drizzly rain during morning. Rode down to Levin sale - prices of breeding ewes very high + fat stock sold well. Visited Mr. Richard Prouse to try to purchase some second-hand galvanised iron - saw his milking cows which are terribly diseased with mammitis + rendered useless for milking - they are trying to cure them in order to fatten off + sell - a very bad business + ominous for the dairying industry. In evening developed rest of Hastings photos - films all fogged at one end due to leaking [pack] adaptor - otherwise good.
