Gil, Jim, Anstice + I rode up to North Block + finished pulling foxgloves in Leighton’s p[addock] as far as main ravine. In one of the gullies between the two main arms of the N. Ravine Spur, I found a fine dead steer – a roan + probably one of the finest bred we have on the block. This is the second steer within a week – the other got cast against a log on terrace in this same paddock. After work I climbed hill + pulled foxgloves on rough spurs running up to old NE corner of block. Wrote Maud a long letter in the evening.
