Another day of stumping in CK p[addock]. Gil + Anstice returned from UR without getting a single day at the east boundary fence of N[orth] Block – they are shirking the work in a sickening fashion. In evening cycled to see Maud + was consoled by her sweetness – I was quite light-headed by the end of the evening – I have won a priceless treasure. Helped her develop some photo plates. Lovely clear, moonlit night. Father bought Mr JW Gibson’s black mare for £17.0.00
