Heavy rain at 10am so did not go to church – Maud was to have come up for the day but was thus prevented – when the afternoon turned out fine I felt quite ill with disappointment at being deprived of her company. Saw her at evening service and although I explained

she seemed quite annoyed with me. After church walked with her and Olive as far as Public Library but she was still chilly to me.
