Gil, Anstice + I rode up river to go on with east boundary fence of N[orth] Block.

Found they had got in 1st strainers on bank of Ohau R + about 17 posts – we laid out some posts + then Gil + Anstice went on cutting posts + I put in 10 posts + 1 strainer, getting to the top of the first steep slope above river-terrace. After this it should be easier – better sinking + grade.
