Same work as yesterday. Showery day but fine night. Mother, Clare, Dora, Uncle Bert + I drove to a farewell dance given to Mr + Mrs Matier + daughters in Town Hall. “Large + brilliant gathering” – lots of strangers – introduced to several ladies notably Mrs Bacchus, Mrs Eccleton + Miss Glassford. Spent a very enjoyable evening – excellent music by orchestra of three Maoris – the Cooks of Otaki. Left at

1.45 am. (Presentation to Mrs Matier + family.) Bed at 3am. We have about 15 new lambs now.
