Went on crutching the “young” ewes. In afternoon I rode round the district – Kimberley Road – allotted to me to canvas for a Democratic Vote on the liquor Question + got a number of signatures. In the evening rode to rly [railway] station to meet Maud on her return from Otaki but she did not put in an appearance. Later Clare, Dora + I went to a party at Mrs Cork’s + spent a very pleasant evening.
