Worked at Swamp–Cow p[addock] fence. Jim + I took 4 fat bullocks (purchased by Bulliman some time ago at £7.5.0) down to his slaughter-yards – then went to Levin sale. Rode down to Mr Herd’s to get some papers left there last night but did not see my darling. Stock selling at far better prices this sale – keen demand probably on acc[ount] of continued fine weather. Father bought 22 forward ewes at 13/- + later we had tea in town with Uncle Bert. In evening Father Mother + I drove down to social in Century Hall to welcome Revs Tinsley + Cotton to Levin–Otaki circuit. Programme + supper – Maud was there + I believe I wore a "won’t wash out”
