Moving + shepherding ewes + hoggarts – some lots of latter not doing as well as they ought. Worked at Swamp–Cow p[addock] fence all day. Aunt Edie left for Wgtn [Wellington]. In evening cycled down to see sweet Maud. Chat with Mr Herd re Pledge Campaign.

Afterward Maud + I sat in an armchair in front of fire + had a most delightful talk. She appears to love me as much as I do her. On leaving I gave her a book illu[strated] by paintings by Coles Phillips “A Gallery of Girls” for her 23rd birthday.
