Overview
Te Papa’s fish team has an active research programme. Fish specialists on the staff of Te Papa provide information on the naming (taxonomy), biogeography, evolution, life history, and ecology of our fish and fish communities.
Currently there are three principal research projects: Biosystematics of New Zealand Fishes; Ross Sea Fishes; and Biodiversity Highways & Biogeographic Origins.
