Galicia

Located in northwestern Spain, Galicia has hilly terrain and generally a uniform elevation. Villages are typically small with a terrain that favors animal husbandry over cultivation of crops. The population was drastically reduced due to emigration to other Spanish provinces and abroad in the early 20th century. Contemporary Galicia is a mainly rural area relying upon agriculture, forestry, and fishing.
