Overview
This child's Chinese hat is made of a red satin fabric, embroidered with flowerswith two phoenix on the back. The hat is lined, trimmed with braid around the edges and has two small fur-edged ears at top.
The hat is part of a set of Chinese clothing worn by Betty Campbell when she was a child living in China with her parents who were missionaries there. Betty became a significant Wellingtonian and national community leader. She received a MBE for her ceaseless community work.
