Very fine day. Drove my 26 steers down to sale for second time - 10 g[ui]n[ea]s bid but asked for £11 – M. Winiata interested but unable to purchase without his partner, Riri Nicholson, who was away – came down to £10.17.6 – no sale so drove the cattle home. Expect Nicholson will the line in paddock. In

evening drove Father down to Mr Evelyn McDonald’s electioneering meeting in Centenary Hall. About 50 present, mostly ‘red feds’. Very interesting speech, seemingly honest + very favourable to the small farmer. Numerous questions by ‘red feds’ at end but the candidate ticked them off very well. I had an argument with the ‘reds’ outside after the meeting but finally we parted friends (?).
