Rode up to Sonoma - stapled plain wires + ran out + strained barb but it didn't reach right through. Split, carried out, + stapled on 56 battens. Moved 49 of the 51 steers from Mill p[addock] to 100 ac[re] p. (2 missing). In evening went down with faterh + others to address by R Semple MP in Century Hall. Wretched talk + very tiring, but the "great unwashed" liked it all right.
