Rode up to Sonoma + mustered the 55 steers off Leighton p[addock] to Mill p. as I have decided the

tutu is too risky - 8 were right among the tutu. Could not see the one I left in the Mill p. Put tin caps on tops of angle posts of Makahika cliff fence + finished off with a coat of tar. Rode up to Leighton-Grange p. fence-line with axe + bar + went on clearing line.Clif arrived at 3.30 + helped me draft out 8 poor steers (only one waster) + helped me drive themdown to Woodside. We had great difficulty getting them out of front gate, as they kept breaking back. Left remaining 47 in Ram p. for night.
