Heavy snow storm in Tararuas + snow right down to crest of Arapaepae Range. Rode up to Sonoma- snow lying on hilltop but valley much warmer + more sheltered than out on the plain. Mustered in falling snow 27 of the 60 steers, from Top p[addock] to Mill p. + 11 more from Leighton p. to Mill p. Rode home to dinner. In pm over to Cheslyn Rise + continued logging up in Gravel-pit p. Bitter southerly wind.
