Overview
Mon. June 24
Rode up to Sonoma - showery day. Mustered the lame + poor ewes from 100 ac[re] p[addock] to years + doctored feet. Mustered ewes + rams into yards from Mill p. - drafted out the 13 rams, doctored feet, (in the rain wrapped in sacks) + put them in Ram p. Put about 200 ewes in 100 ac. p. Found 3 steers had got from 100 ac. p. to Mill p. Continued at Makahika Cliff fence - cut split + carried out 11 posts. Heavy rain came on at 4.30. Read "A Castle to Let" by Mrs Baillie Reynolds - a very interesting story.
