Father, Frank, Clif + I rode up to Sonoma via South Block to give mwe a days scrub cutting in "Ohau corner". First we cut a broad track up to top of the main ridge of Trig Spur (which is the lowest (triple) spur running out of the bush beyond east bdy [boundary]) + then a track on opposite side of the stream up the ridge of Father's Spur, making a connection

withthe lower end of Bush Spur. We logged up + cleared the trak on lower part of Father's Spur but on getting to the green bracken, cut it ready for firing right up to Father's Lookout. A splendid days work + one for which I am very grateful as it opnes up good groudn + will make mustering easier. Drove to Levin in evening to get stores. Splendid rain on Friday night.
