Rode up to Sonoma. The steer in bush near Horseshoe Bend still alive but groaning - took off hide + found bad lacerated bruises.

After some search found where he had slipped over the very slick bank from loose p[addock]. Shore a wooly [sic] straggling ewe + lamb. Doctored rams feet.Cut tutu along both banks of the river in Mill p. Mustered a few odd ewes + lambs in 20p + 100 ac[re] paddocks to Mill p. Cut the patches of Californian thistle. Home by 7pm. Viv + her friend, Miss Nora Gordon, over to tea + we spent a very plesant evening with music photos etc.
