Over to Cheslyn Rise at 6 am. Winiata not able to come till breakfast time so I shore with Morgan + did 14 in 1 1/2 hrs. (Father's "home" lambs). At noon went home + rode down to Levin sale when [sic] was very dull. Bought in A + W's yards 4 small steers at £5.1.0. Visited Hillcrest + had a long talk + walk round garden with Mrs Lancaster. Put the new steers in far 42. The drought continues.
