Father, Frank, Clif + I rode up to Sonoma. Mustered ewes + lambs in Mill p. into yards + docked. Ewes, including about 50 hoggarts [sic], 427 lambs docked 271 (= 71%). Undocked lambs about 25 so far. During the morning

George Bloomfield [sic], who is in camp with the 31st Reinforcements, came up to see us + spent the day with us. He is on his final leave + will stay at Woodside a couple of days.
