Over to Cheslyn Rise – Frank + I hayfed. After dinner rode up to Sonoma to shepherd stock. Moved the 47 steers from 100 ac[re] p[addock] to Mill p. + ewes from 100 ac. p. to Leighton p. + rams from Ram p. to Stuckey’s side of Mill p. Went up to Leighton-Top p. fence-line + started clearing away bracken grown since the burn. In evening got word by telephone that our dear Mother passed away very peacefully at 7.15 this evening.
