Wet day. Rode up to Sonoma + worked

At Leighton-Top p[addock], putting in strainer + corner posts. Wet through so left early. 12 of th 47 steers have got from 100 ac[re] p[addock] to Mill p. through the bush north of Horse-shoe Bend. In evening read V.V. s eyes by H S Harrison. Father returned from W gton [Wellington] with news that Mother is much worse.
