Bleak showery day. Rode up to Sonoma via Ohau gate. Cut down tutu in gullies in "2nd burn" in Top p[addock] also in Mill p. along banks of river. During heaviest rain worked at gates in by shed. Read "The Story of Bessie Costrell' by Mrs Humphrey Ward.
