Wed. May. 9.
Rode up to Sonoma - saw the 15 steers in Mill p[addock] + mustered the other 29 in Leighton p. + put them in 100 ac[re] p. till I have repaired the east b[oun]d[ar]y fence. Went on with this job + mended a small break - also felled some threatening trees - spent the rest of the day trying to clear away the big rimu on line. Took home a shrub + a "Prince of Wales Feather" fern for planting. Wet night.
