Worked at 100 ac[re] p[addock] north fence extension - benched most of line ready for posts - cut + split 14 posts on Connecting Spur. Father arrived about 4 pm to inspect + thought the fence was pretty tough job. We walked up Main Wedge Spur to the "2nd burn" to see the recently burned patches + found a huge rimu fallen on part of east b[oun]d[ar]y fence undamaged by the fires. Father agreed that I had

an enormous + overwhelming amount of work to get through + said he intended to help me out as far as he could. After he left I mustered the 10 rams into yards + picked out 4 for the sale. Read "Arizona Nights" by Stewart Ed. White.
