Rode up to Sonoma. Carried four loads of wire etc. up to Leighton-Top p[addock] fence on hilltop. Ran out plain wires + strained up. Split 40 battens out of the big rimu - very tough log, but none other available. Knocked off at 5.45 pm pretty well exhausted. In evening Maud + I drove to Levin. Dr. Bryson's prescription has
